The thing with Juugo was that he wasn’t fond of public display of affection.

Suigetsu wanted to hold hands. He wanted to be physically touching him, to hug him, to stand close to him, to look, act, seem like a couple because, despite how he acted, he was a sucker for cute romances, finding himself jealous of couples. But Juugo wasn’t, not in the slightest bit.

He gently took his hand away from Suigetsu’s and was always the one to take a step to the side, to avoid being too close to him.

And Suigetsu was getting annoyed, knowing that it wasn’t him but it was Juugo, really it was, and one day he got tired of it.

He kissed Juugo in the middle of a town, his small and lithe body moving too quickly for him to react before their lips pressed together, garnering looks from others, soft whispers.

Maybe it was just Suigetsu, but Juugo seemed to be more tolerable of public displays of affection after that.

Onyx eyes came to a narrow, offering Suigetsu a lifeless glare. “Hmph, quit idling around, Suigetsu.” His response was quick and stern, the order semblance to a demand.

“What’s the rush? You already killed your brother, that was the whole reason we were formed, ya know?” He smirked, hands going behind his head,”Surely we can relax for once, eh?”
